Duties Description The Treasury department is seeking Student Interns to develop and build models in support of analytic use cases; draft technical requirements and data definitions; provide input on current approaches and recommend improvements to best achieve goals; review and suggest improvements to current or planned systems and processes. Additionally, they will perform data extraction, aggregation, and quality checks from multiple sources and tables in support of trend identification and root cause analysis; summarize results, create written reports and collaborate with staff to develop business intelligence solutions. The candidate will also assist in developing and maintaining the department share point site.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Treasury/Cash Management:
• Review and analysis of prior years’ external audit files for duplicate or overlapping requests and due date appropriateness.
• Work with IT to create a shared drive for departments to receive and respond to audit requests.
• Assist with state regulator examination requests as needed.
• Intercompany allocation review and setup for 2027.
• Power point project to update board report templates.
• Participate in departmental walkthroughs with managers and external auditors.
• Assist with Finance monthly tasks including reconciliations, and accounts payable duties including employee expense report mileage reviews, basic travel processing, and other administrative accounts payable tasks.
Minimum Qualifications • Be a permanent New York State (NYS) resident and/or actively enrolled in a NYS college or University.
• Be actively enrolled in a college, university, or graduate program.
• Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate program.
• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, or the letter grade equivalent.
• Able to work full-time Summer (37.50 hours weekly) and based on performance and availability the opportunity to transition to part-time Fall (10-15 hours per week)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in MS Office products a plus.
