Duties Description Rochester Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Chief of Mental Health Treatment Services to plan, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive care and treatment programs for individuals with mental illness. Candidates within State Service can apply.
As a Chief of Mental Health Treatment Services, you will supervise and direct treatment team leaders and various staff in the delivery of care and treatment services to individuals with mental illness including:
• Reviewing the scope and details of existing facility programs to assess their value
• Monitoring admissions and discharge processes to maintain unit census
• Overseeing environmental reviews to ensure safe and therapeutic patient environments
• Maintaining regulatory compliance with The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Inspection of Care surveys
Minimum Qualifications Candidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Candidates within State Service can be considered for provisional appointment if they have 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as:
• Chief Forensic Unit 1, Chief Psychologist, Coordinator of Intensive Case Management Services, Director Nursing 3 (Psychiatric)/Director of Nursing, Forensic Services Program Administrator 1, Forensic Services Program Administrator 2, Mental Health Rehabilitation Program Director 1, Assistant Director Nursing 1 (Psychiatric)/Mental Hygiene Nursing Program Coordinator, Principal Psychologist, Residential Program Manager 4, Social Work Supervisor 2/Social Work Supervisor 3, Social Work Supervisor 3 (Spanish Language), Director Social Work (LCSW)/Social Work Supervisor 2 (LCSW)/Social Work Supervisor 3 (LCSW), Social Work Supervisor 3 [LCSW] (Spanish Language), Treatment Team Leader (Mental Health), Treatment Team Leader [Mental Health] (Spanish Language), Treatment Team Leader (Children & Youth), or Treatment Team Leader [Children & Youth] (Spanish Language).
Note: If appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.

In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Chief of Mental Health Treatment Services at Rochester Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.
