Duties Description Assist with the operation and maintenance of DEC facilities, including buildings, wildlife management areas, fishing access sites, and state forests. Will be required to operate light and heavy equipment and power tools safely and efficiently. Candidate may be required to perform a variety of tasks of the buildings and grounds maintenance trades including; plumbing,electrical, carpentry, painting, sawyer, mowing, landscaping, equipment operation and snow removal. Will assist in the maintenance of various types of trails, parking access. areas for hunting, fishing and recreational activities, department assets and infrastructure. May be required to perform maintenance and repair work on diverse types of motor equipment.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
Additional Comments Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.

Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be available for emergency response.
Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
